Background in education – with a focus on literature, reading promotion and literacy.

Qualifications in Information Management and Teaching – Chartered Librarian and qualified English Teacher – varied career including Learning Resources Manager, Literacy Coordinator, English teacher and Skills Lecturer in large secondary schools and colleges in London, Bristol and Swansea.

Experience in charities – Programme Manager for National Literacy Trust’s Premier Reading Stars Cymru and Global Citizenship Education Advisor for Oxfam Cymru working with the wider education team in Oxfam GB.

Worked with writers, poets and performers across Wales and England engaging young people in the world of books in order to develop a love of reading and improve literacy outcomes. Happiest when inspiring young people to enjoy learning, develop a new skill or gain self confidence.

Passionate about reading – love contemporary literature, children’s books and illustrated picture books – contain such beautiful art work and helps develop emotional literacy.

Love the outdoors – walk, run or cycle on or near the beach everyday and you will find me in outdoor bootcamps rain or shine four times a week
Happiest exploring outdoors with my son and daughter looking for new adventures.

Engage in environmental campaigns – raising awareness of climate change and how we can work together to protect our environment and reduce the impact of climate change for future generations.

What advice do you have for people to bringing creativity into everyday life?

Look for the extraordinary in the ordinary, see beauty in your environment and don’t be afraid to take risks.
