Ty Llidiard Sound Project

This short project explored sound and music with the young people of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), based at Ty Llidiard in Bridgend. The project aimed to give the young people a voice to express themselves and ignite their imagination, whilst also upskilling them and building their confidence and self-esteem.

Using high-tech, specialist equipment and expert guidance by facilitator Alex Rees, the young people were free to explore sound in whatever way they felt most comfortable with, including creating sounds and beats, manipulating them, and adding post-production techniques. They were involved in recording, editing, and producing music and sounds of their choice, which was formed into their own ‘tracks’ that they could keep to share with family and friends.
